A brilliant prospect buried on a deep roster sits a full tier lower than a good prospect who walked into an open role, because in dynasty the timeline of production is worth almost as much as the ceiling of it.

• Tier 2: high-capital prospects with a one-year wait behind an aging starter.
• Tier 3: talented Day 2 picks in crowded rooms — buy-low upside if you can stash them.
